Gosh, Google built this toy to replicate the feeling of seeing the world from above. It is really fantastic - yet it is still an experience of being "the observer" rather than being fully immersed in the experience.
However, I can see the day when you zoom in, pick a place, let's say a house, then pop yourself right in one of the rooms and become the character right IN the movie, instead of just watching.
Which is possibly what we are all doing right now!
