As I re listened to David Bohm's clip on Perception, I didn't hear him address the subject of Cause and Effect! Yet I heard it plainly before. So either I included a different video or I heard something else. I was going to type, "Either I included the wrong video or I heard wrong." Interesting how so much of our descriptions about things are about right and wrong.
Anyway, his thoughts on perception still give an insight into why there is no cause and effect in the hologram. There is really only a perception of what appears to be cause and effect. Viewed from different angles and with different knowledge and emotion, other explanations for the cause of a thing would spring forth.
My son was reminding me of how the stock market works. There is no science behind what controls the price of stock. It is all based on emotion. A tragic news story can fuel fear which can either drop or spike stock prices. An event that makes people feel safe or happy can cause a rise or fall in a stock price. That is why no one has invented a system or software program that can predict with complete accuracy what the stock market will do. It is also easy to see how we can be maniuplated by the stories that the news decides to carry and the partiuclar way the story is slanted. A "cause" is suggested, and then THE effect is shown. But it is simply one view.
As Bohm discoverd, every view is limited. Even our thoughts are appearances.....what appears to be true to the mind when viewed through a particular mirror. And when a particular view, theory, cause, or object is seen at a closer angle, it is not solid at all, and the deeper scientists go, there ends up being nothing - NO thing at all....simply the Field of ALL possibilities.
Cause and Effect is all made up - a story we tell. And when we hear a certain story enough, we believe it as a truth.
In the end, there is only One cause and that is Conscousness Itself. Consciousness decides what gets popped into the hologram. And when viewed from another angle, cause and effect is actually reversed. The effect of a thing is actually Consciousness and we put a story of "cause" to it.
When I went to find the other David Bohm clip on cause and effect, I realized that it was a man named Arthur Young who I had heard. Here is his insight:
